Improvement & Maintenance Manager – Vung Tau, Vietnam

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Improvement & Maintenance Manager to lead factory maintenance operations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop preventative maintenance plans and procedures for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, instrumentation, and software systems.
• Ensure compliance of production lines with local regulations and internal standards (ISO 22000/HACCP).
• Manage the full maintenance team and workshop activities; allocate workload and supervise staff.
• Monitor equipment inventory, spare parts, and storage; place orders when necessary.
• Contribute to factory continuous improvement by reporting issues and proposing optimizations.
• Support engineering team in new equipment installation and commissioning projects.
• Conduct inspections of facilities to identify and resolve issues.
• Check electrical and hydraulic systems to ensure functionality.
• Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Participate in internal audits and external audits from third parties and customers.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve operational issues (quality, engineering, productivity, training, safety, 5S discipline).
• Train new employees, conduct refresher training, review performance, and motivate staff to achieve goals.
• Work with HR on staffing needs and workforce planning.
• Ensure documentation and record-keeping of maintenance activities; maintain logs and daily reports.
• Analyze downtime data and perform root cause analysis; report findings to upper management.
• Identify and implement process, system, and cost improvement initiatives.
• Set KPIs for the I&M department and evaluate results regularly; report to the Board of Directors.
• Establish SOPs and best practices ensuring compliance with food safety and ISO 22000/HACCP standards.
• Participate in cost control and budget planning; monitor expenses and control maintenance budget.
• Ensure all safety and health standards are met to maintain an accident-free workplace.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify improvement areas, develop change plans, and monitor progress.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in Food/Feed/Aquaculture industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation.
• Proficiency in CAD/DAO (AutoCAD) for P&ID production; familiar with international standards.
• Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
• Solid knowledge of factory machines and equipment.
• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
