Factory Manager – Portugal

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee production operations and ensure quality standards in our hand-tufted carpet manufacturing facility in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

• Arrange raw materials from suppliers and manage processing (yarn dyeing).
• Lead end-to-end hand-tufted production activities: gunning/tufting, latexing, backing application, clipping, carving, and washing.
• Manage daily and weekly workforce allocation to consistently achieve output targets and shipment timelines.
• Monitor raw material consumption (yarn, backing fabrics, latex) to ensure cost-effective operations.

Quality Control & Assurance

• Ensure strict adherence to customer quality benchmarks, dimensions, pile finishes, and aesthetic standards.

Team Leadership & Artisan Management

• Hire, train, and supervise a team of skilled artisans, tufters, and finishing personnel.

Logistics

• Maintain inventory of raw materials and finished carpets.
• Arrange dispatches through logistics companies.

Reporting

• Prepare reports on production, costing, and operational performance.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing textile operations, specifically in the hand-tufted or Robotufted carpet industry.
• Technical knowledge of yarn specifications, tufting, and finishing techniques.
• Proficiency in Excel for production and costing analysis.
• Language skills: English and Portuguese (mandatory).
• Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and ability to meet strict delivery commitments.
