Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager – Manufacturing Engineering to lead manufacturing engineering activities and drive process optimization within an automotive manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for improving production efficiency, supporting new product introduction, managing engineering projects, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage manufacturing engineering activities to ensure efficient, stable, and cost-effective production processes.
- Drive process improvement initiatives including productivity improvement, cycle time reduction, line balancing, manpower optimization, and waste reduction.
- Develop production line layouts, conduct capacity analysis, and ensure production capacity meets customer requirements.
- Support New Product Development (NPD) and Production Engineering (PE) teams in process design, tooling preparation, and manufacturing readiness.
- Manage tooling, equipment, and automation projects to improve production efficiency.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives related to manpower, cycle time, scrap reduction, rework, and process optimization.
- Work closely with Quality teams to reduce defects and improve process capability (Cp/Cpk).
- Lead, develop, and motivate the Manufacturing Engineering team to achieve business objectives.
- Promote continuous improvement culture through Lean Manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
- 7–12 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing or Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Line balancing, Cycle time optimization, OEE, PFMEA, Control Plan, Tooling, Automation, and Cost reduction projects
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Good English communication skills.
