DEMAND & SUPPLY PLANNING SUPERVISOR – Binh Duong, Vietnam

Construction Fasteners & Tools · Shelby Global Company Limited — Vietnam

Work Location: Bau Band Industrial Zone

🌟 JOB PURPOSE

As the Demand & Supply Planning Supervisor, you will be responsible for converting demand received from Headquarters and Clients into an executable supply and Master Production Schedule (MPS). You will serve as a critical bridge balancing finished-goods inventory, raw material availability, supplier commitments, production capacity, and required customer delivery schedules.

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Demand Management

  • Receive, analyze, and review weekly and monthly finished-goods demand from HQ through Symphony or approved planning systems.
  • Validate demand data by SKU, quantity, required date, priority, and special shipping requirements.
  • Classify and track demand priorities (Black, Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan) to maintain clear visibility of critical items.
  • Analyze demand spikes, duplicated requirements, and potential obsolescence risks against previous planning cycles.

2. Demand Coverage & Feasibility Assessment

  • Assess demand feasibility based on finished-goods stock, raw material availability, open purchase orders (POs), confirmed supplier delivery schedules, and operational capacity constraints.
  • Categorize demand SKUs into operational readiness statuses (Fully Ready, Partially Ready, Material Blocked, Capacity Blocked, Master Data Blocked).
  • Initiate cross-functional recovery actions for blocked demand, giving top priority to high-impact orders (Black & Red classifications).
  • Maintain accurate demand coverage reporting using original SKU units of measure.

3. Supply & Master Production Planning (MPS)

  • Prepare and propose monthly and weekly supply and master production plans by SKU, resource, priority, and target completion date.
  • Optimize balance across customer demand, inventory levels, material availability, supplier commitments, capacity, and manufacturing lead times.
  • Upon approval by the Senior Supply Chain Manager, input the master plan and priority rankings into SAP for the Production Planning Supervisor to execute detailed daily and shift schedules.
  • Review feasibility continuously and adjust plans dynamically when demand, material availability, or capacity changes.

4. Material Requirement & Shortage Management

  • Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) outputs to determine accurate material needs aligned with the approved master production plan.
  • Maintain the Material Shortage List categorized by material code, affected finished-good SKU, supplier, shortage quantity, target delivery date, and assigned recovery owner.
  • Issue prioritized material requirements to Purchasing and track supplier delivery recovery plans.
  • Evaluate partial production options or sequence adjustments to minimize line downtime when full material readiness is delayed.
  • Escalate supply risks (supplier delays, payment holds, inventory discrepancies) with clear impact analysis and recovery timelines.

5. Production Plan Performance & Inventory Parameter Control

  • Monitor production plan attainment, order execution status, and delayed production orders against approved schedules.
  • Assess the impact of production delays on shipment schedules and coordinate recovery priorities across departments.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for planning bottlenecks (BOM issues, Master Data inaccuracies, SAP-WMS synchronization, consumption posting errors).
  • Monitor inventory levels to support fulfillment while proactively mitigating excess, slow-moving, and obsolete (SLOB) risks.
  • Recommend and update planning parameters periodically (Safety Stock, Lead Times, MOQ, Lot Sizes, Reorder Points).

6. Process & Reporting Management

  • Establish planning calendars, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), standard work instructions, and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports highlighting critical risks, operational scenarios, and decision requirements for senior management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, material readiness, schedule stability, and system synchronization.

🎯 JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, or Material Planning within manufacturing environments. At least 1 year in a Supervisory, Lead, or Senior Coordinator role.
  • Technical & System Skills:
    • Mandatory: Hands-on proficiency in SAP (MRP & Production Planning modules) and Advanced Excel.
    • Preferred: Experience with Symphony, WMS, Power BI, Power Query, or Advanced Planning Systems (APS).
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (writing and speaking for global HQ communication and reporting).
  • Competencies:
    • Strong analytical mindset with data-driven problem-solving skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail, highly accountable, and resilient under fast-paced operational demands.
    • Excellent cross-functional coordination and communication skills.
  • Priority Preference: Experience in high-SKU manufacturing environments (e.g., industrial assembly, fasteners, automotive components, packaging, or heavy industrial production).
